Overview

  1. Have a basic understanding of Robert’s Rules.
  2. Preside over Board and General Meetings (including the AGM).
  3. Be fully aware of the tasks of other Board Members, and encourage and advise them.
  4. Have an in depth understanding of the Powerhouse Theatrical Society, its Constitution and Bylaws.
  5. Continually find ways to make our theatre run more efficiently.
  6. Listen to and act on the concerns of the membership.
  7. Stay current with Policies and news.
  8. Have the necessary time available to perform your duties.

Yearly Duties

  1. Appoint representatives to represent the Powerhouse at the O-Zone Board of Theatre BC
  2. Appoint Directors to perform specific tasks (including one for each committee)
  3. Help, or find help to problem solve interpersonal ‘situations’

Monthly Duties

  1. With the Secretary create an Agenda for each upcoming Board or General meeting.
  2. Stay informed about the current production, and attend some of the production meetings, and rehearsals.
  3. Send a monthly ‘President’s Message’ to the Spotlight Editor.
  4. Tour the theatre during construction work parties and rehearsals to ensure that our members are operating machinery in a safe manner, and to confirm that those involved in a production are performing their specific tasks in a safe manner.
  5. Continually advise others of changes and protocol at the theatre.

There is to be no disposal or sale of any asset of Powerhouse Theatrical Society, without the express permission of a department head or director. There are no exceptions to this policy. This includes but is not limited to props, sound equipment, lighting equipment, tools or costumes.
